Cologna19maerz3Dario Cologna can look back on an extremely successful season, which is crowned with a predominant overall World Cup victory.

The overall victory was unambiguous and couldn´t seriously be challenged by any competitor.
Since Cologna won the Tour de Ski again this season, he proved his top-form with an impressive start-finish victory at the final 15 km pursuit race of the mini-tour in Sweden's Falun. He started as leader into the race because of his very good results in the competitions before.

Cologna made a consistently high pace and so his victory was never in danger during the entire race. Another trophy for the Swiss athlete. He is now three times overall world cup champion and also triple Tour de Ski winner.

We congratulate our two CASCO cross-country skiers and thank them for the suspense-packed days of competition

Cologna ran away from the main field just before the finish.

Only the Norwegian Eldar Ronning was able to compete and ultimately secured the victory.

Skimarathon12maerzNobody expected Roman Furger to win the Engadine Ski Marathon. Roman Furger was bronze medalist at the U-23 World Championship and had the right tactic at the 42 Kilometer cross country race. He stayed with the top group the entire race until he started his attack. It worked out and he won.

We are happy about his success and wish him all the best!

Soukup8marzHe surprised everyone: Jaroslav Soukup. The Czech completed almost unnoticed the 20 km individual race at the World Championship in Ruhpolding. And suddenly he was in top position, the athlete with the start number 28. Despite of one penalty, he made it on the podium with a healthy dose of will to win and fight.

He said after the race: "On the last loop, my coaches said I was 8 seconds behind Birnbacher. The 20 Kilometer  is a long way. I knew that I had to try to beat him; that last loop was very hard. I just did the best I could.“

And this was very successful, which proves the bronze medal in his hands. Congratulations!

cologna5maerzRank 1 for Dario Cologna at the skiathlon in Lahti (Finland). The first 15 km of the race in the classical technique did not really pan out. But after switching to the 15 km freestyle Cologna could demonstrate his superiority.

It was the fifth win of the season and he could further extend his overall lead in the World Cup. With 1.793 points he is significant ahead of Norway's Petter Northug with 1.199 points.

delBosco28febrChris Del Bosco is a little bit closer to his goal of becoming this year's overall World Cup winner. With his third place at the Ski Cross World Cup in Bischofswiesen/Götschen he closes the gap on his teammate Brady Leman and the Swiss Alex Fiva.

Del Bosco had consistently good results in the past. Three years in a row he finished the World Cup as runner-up. He deserves to win a hard-earned overall World Cup victory.
In Bischofswiesen/Götschen the Canadian could again benefit from his experience.

He didn`t risk too much and made it to the finals where he picked as many valuable points as he could in the battle for the overall World Cup victory.

Del Bosco resumes: “With all those guys going out I knew I just had to have a smart race. I’m pretty excited that I made up some ground.”

We are looking forward to the last four races of the season and keep our fingers crossed!

cologna20febrAt the cross country World Cup in Poland Poreba Dario Cologna could expand his overall lead to second-placed Petter Northug. Despite this clear leadership the world cup remains full of suspense. Johan Olsson is currently in top form and it seems like a battle of giants between him and Dario Cologna.

In Poreba Cologna must admit defeat over 15 kilometers in the classical technique and came in second after the Swede. The third-placed Alexander Legkow from Russia needed almost 40 seconds longer than Cologna.

Best World Cup result for Roman Koudelka

Wednesday, 15 February 2012 12:03

Koudelka15febrAt the ski jumping World Cup in Willingen the 22 year old Czech Roman Koudelka achieved the best result of his career so far. Rank 2, despite of difficult wind conditions. The strong upwind forced the organizers in the first round to shorten the takeoff for a bit.

Therby they could reduce the inrun speed. Roman Koudelka did not get irritated by this and ended on the second rank next to the new overall World Cup leader Anders Bardal of Norway.

We are excited to see how Roman Koudelka will perform in Klingenthal and keep our fingers crossed.
